今さらだけど、、、美味しいワインと素晴らしいワイン / Difference between beautiful wine and fantastic wine
最近、以前の仕事を辞めて次の仕事への移行期間ということもあって、少し時間をとって今までやりたくてできなかった事を色々やってます。今までネットでお世話になっていたけど、一度もちゃんとお話ししていない、お会いできていないワイン屋さんに訪問したり電話したりする事もその一つで、それによってとても有意義な時間を過ごせています。
結論からいうと私がお付き合いさせて頂いていたワイン屋さん、超オモシロイ人たちばっかりでした😁 スーパー個性的。 そして恐ろしい程の経験値。 世の中で一番ワインを知っているのは有名な評論家でも有名ソムリエでもなく、輸入業者さんと一部のワイン屋さんだと思っているのですが、本当にそれが裏付けられた感じでした。
彼らに共通して言える事は、ワインの表面的な姿の向こうに色々なものを見ているということ。そして表面的な姿にとらわれないというところです。DRCなんてロマネ・コンティを含め数えられない程飲みまくって、今や伝説と言われるブルゴーニュや自然派ワインを飲みこんで、その先へ行き着いちゃっている。極端に言えば、ブルゴーニュやボルドーやシャンパーニュや自然派など、産地やスタイルやブドウ品種の垣根を超えてその向こう側にある何かを探している、見つけ出しているといった印象でした。手強いな〜😎
一人の人が言ってました。「ワインそのものがまずくたって、自分の好きな一点が物凄く秀でていればそれでいいんだ！」 深いな〜！ 人間関係で、「こいつ本当にだめな奴だけど大好きなんだよなー」っていう事ありますよね。その感覚をワインに持ち込んじゃっていると言えば分かり易いかも。ワイン屋さんとしては一般受けしないかもですが、、、😅
美味しいワインはロマネ・コンティやルロワかもしれない。でも素晴らしいワインはどこか違うところにあるような気がmareもしています。評論家の記事を読んでいれば美味しいワインは見つかる。でも素晴らしいワインを見つけるには自分で「旅」をしなければならない。人それぞれ違う個性があり、違う感性があるのだから、また人それぞれに違った「旅」があるような気がします。

I have a bit of time during my recent transition period as I quit my original job and am preparing for new business. So, I am doing something I wanted but couldn't do before. One thing is; I am visiting or talking over the phone to the wine shop people who I had bought wines from in the past. It is very meaningful time.
Consclusion first; they are super, super unique and interesting people! 😁 And, their knowledge and experience levels were beyond imaginaiton. To be frank and honest, in my opinion, the people who know the wine most are wine importers and wine shops, not famous critics or famous sommelier who write books. And, indeed, recent contact of mine just proved it.
Thier similar point is that they all see something behind surfacial figure of wines. They don't get hung up on the beauty of wine on surface. I am very sure they had experienced tons of bottles of DRC including Romanee Conti or legendary wines of Burgundy and Natural wines such as Henri Jayer or Overnoy. These experinces already brought them to the place beyond normal sense or judgement. To speak of extremes, they don't care if it is Burgundy or Bordeaux or Champagne or Natural wine. They don't care its wine area or its style or even its kind of grape. They search for something valuable beyond them and find it 😎
One wine shop person said to me; "even the wine tastes badly, I love it if I can find one point super impressive. Very deep thought! For example, we sometimes have "bad" friend. But, we sometime love this "bad" friend even though his personality and behavior are tough. The comment of this wine shop person may be close to it.
Beautiful wines may be Romanee Conti and Leroy. But, fantastic wines are somewhere else, I feel. We can find good wines when we can read reviews of critics. But, if you want to find fantastic and impressive wines, you need to make your own "journey". Everyone has his/her own character and sensitivity. So, he/she has his/her own "journey"!
