2018年の締めくくりとして、今年のワインTOP5 - ランキング 4 / The most memorable TOP 5 wines in 2018 - Ranking 4

マッサ・ヴェッキアです😆

今年の春頃、ヴィナイオータさんより大量に蔵出しのバックヴィンテージ（もうオールドヴィンテージかな？）が販売され、そのどれもが本当に素晴らしかったのです。私のイタリアワインおよび自然派ワインの師匠的な存在である岡谷さんがオーナーシェフの麹町ロッシ２５周年記念イベントでこれらの蔵出しされたワインのほとんどをグラスで飲む機会があり、本当に２０１８年はマッサ・ヴェッキアの年でした。そんな機会なんてそうそうありません！

じゃあ、どうして４位なの？　今年ほどたくさんのオールドヴィンテージをまとめて飲めた年はありませんでしたが、でもずっと好きで馴染みのあるワインであること、そして手に入りにくいワインなので、それらの理由で順位を落としました。

マッサ・ヴェッキアの良さを一言でいうと、、、、ごめんなさい、一言で言えませんでした🙇‍♂️ まずはその「大らかさ」、「雄大さ」です。特に熟成させたときに見せる、「肩に力が入っているよ！まあ、気楽に飲みなよ！」と語りかけてくれてる的な「大人の魅力」的な姿に心を持って行かれてしまいます。人間でいうと、本当は凄い人なのに静かに優しいオーラが出ていて、それでいて底がしれない的な。ちなみに、mareが長く働いた金融業界ではそんな人見たことありません。凄い人はいるのですがオーラがビンビンに出ているので😅 そして、熟成ポテンシャルとそこからくる複雑性。「時間」しか造れないものを受け入れることのできる素晴らしい「酒質」。２００３年のクエルチョーラがそれをはっきりと物語っていました。

ちなみに、お父さんの代からお嬢さんの代に変わり、ワインの魅力が少し下がったという評価をする人がちょくちょくいます。mareはあまり厳密にワインのテイストにこだわらない場合も多いです。このワイナリーに脈々と伝わっている本質的な姿がそこにあれば良いのかなと思っています。ワインのメッセージ性が同じならばこれからも追いかけていきたい生産者です😉

Ranking 4 ......... Massa Vecchia😆

Vinaiota acquired tons of bottles from Massa Vecchia, Italy, and sold them in Japan last spring.  They were great back-vintages wines ( I guess, old vintages already ) and all of them were more than splendid.  A kind of my wine teacher, Mr Okaya, run the restaurant "Rossi" at Kojimachi and they had 25th anniversary event.  At the party, there were most of those old Massa Vecchia wines and I could taste them by the glass.  Such an opportunity!!!  

Why then is it only 4th?  Though I had marvelous opportunity to drink Massa Vecchia wines this year, It has been my favorite wine for a long time and it is hard to buy from wine shops.  So, I didn't put more credit on it this time.

Talking about the greatness of Massa Vecchia, if I explain it in one word...... Sorry, I couldn't 🙇‍♂️  First of all, its "grandness" and "magnificence" can explain it nicely.  Especially, when it gets older, it speaks to me like "Hey, You are raising your shoulders, men.  Take it easy!" and shows me the attraction of "adult".  In addition, maturing potential and complexity!  It can accept "time" and can beautifully mature.  2003 La Querciola explains it exactly.

Lastly, some people think and tell that the quality of their wines moved down a little since the father, Fabrizio, succeeded winey to his daughter.  I am not sure about its criticism and I don't want to care wine taste too much time to time.  If there is good succession of wine essence and winery policy, it is totally acceptable and enough.  When the message from thier wines styas the same, I just keep following it😉
